The Electronic Communications and Postal Regulatory Authority opened a workshop on March 27, 2019

In collaboration with the Ecole Supérieure Multinationale des Télécommunications de Dakar (ESMT), Niger’s telecommunications regulator had an in-depth discussion with operators working in the telecommunications sector about the topic: “Regulation in the digital era”. Through this initiative, the two partners aim to find solutions to the issues affecting the digital sector.  At the opening of the meeting, Ms. Béty Aichatou Habibou Omani, President of the National Council for the Postal and Regulation of Electronic Communications, explained the crucial significance of this topic, which she said, would enable the regulator to establish a regulatory framework for the safety of users. Moreover, it should be noted that in the digital era, several equipment not authorized by regulation circulates in the telecommunications market, which is a real threat to the sector.
